What is one of the most rewarding aspects of your job?
Relationships and interaction with the members of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce throughout the entire Grand Strand area.
What is the best compliment you’ve ever been given by a customer at work and what did you do to deserve it?
The best compliment that truly stands out would be that I continue to keep a smile and positive attitude in the workplace. Also, when handling situations that may need attention or addressed, I’m always handling quickly and with a smile of course.
Describe your favorite memory of your time working in the tourism/hospitality industry?
I don’t have any favorite memories because there are so many that I have, but the one memory that stands out is when staff and members of the chamber went to the airport for the arrival of a little girl who had become ill and her wish was to vacation in the Grand Strand area. Not only did we welcome her as she arrived with a big “Welcome to Myrtle Beach” sign, we also made sure she had a memorable vacation.
What do you think makes someone’s visit to the Myrtle Beach area memorable?
Excellent customer service, safe environment, beautiful sandy beach, amusement, attractions, dining, etc., having an awesome time with family and friends definitely makes a visit to the Myrtle Beach area memorable.
How do you think the tourism/hospitality industry benefits the community you live in?
Creates employment opportunities for economic and infrastrucre growth. Makes the local businesess very happy.
What is one thing you’d like to share about yourself or your experience working in the Myrtle Beach area tourism industry with your customers/guests?
My experience working in the tourism industry in the Myrtle Beach area has been awesome. I’ve learned what a huge impact tourism has in our community over the past 18 years and how it benefits local residents and businesses. Most importantly I get to see new friendly smiling faces every day.
